Royal Congratulations

BeOnBoard would like to congratulate the 20 plus people who were recently recognised in the  Queen’s 2020 Birthday Honours list. The special list of winners is normally announced in June, but this year the event was pushed back to also enable the inclusion of those who went above and beyond in the early months of the Covid crisis.

As part of this, BeOnBoard are particularly pleased to congratulate Sir Daryn Carter, Dame Sandra Meadows and Sir Roy Hackett who all received a MBE in this year’s list.

BeOnBoard would like to thank them for their indelible contribution to advancing diverse leadership in Bristol. In fact as part of our Race For Inclusive Leadership series you can learn more about Roy Hackett and his impact as co-founder of the Bristol Bus Boycott here.

MBE stands for Member Of The Most Excellent Order Of The British Empire. It’s one of five classes of appointment to the Order Of The British Empire. The decision about who gets an honour and the type of honour they get is made by a special committee. The committee’s decisions go to the Prime Minister and then, finally, to the Queen to check it.
